Tanka: Hidden Stories

the wind picks up as if
for the first time
old stones tell a story
we will never forget

  1. A friend of mine went to the Arctic and was busy collecting stones to take home. An Inuit woman asked her what she was doing and she told her that she was going to take the stones home to Toronto. The Inuit woman laughed and said :”You can’t do that. Those stones will laugh at you!” Those stones were telling a story too!
