in your heart
the beauty of hidden stars
within the sound of silence

dVerse Poetics: Sounds of Silence
When I saw the prompt at dVerse I immediately had to think of the adaptation by American band ‘Disturbed’ of the classic Simon & Garfunkel song ‘The Sound of Silence’. Below is a video clip of their version, which inspired the tanka above. Hope you enjoy!
Oh such a beauty!

Beautiful poem Xenia, and the song is one of my favorite. I can’t hear the sound of silence because I have chronic tinnitus. I love the song. Thank you!

Thank you, Xenia. I have seek help for 20 years. Some new medical discovery is developing instead of referring all cases to hearing loss. I learn to live with it all these years. ❤ xox

Fantastic (and in spite of myself, I love this rendition of “The Sound of Silence” — a teen showed it to me last year, and I think it is fabulous). Fun play on words in your post! 🙂 Well done!

Kind of like the lyrics from the Ronan Keating song: you say it best when you say nothing at all.
