It is normal for the snows to remain on the mountains until July.
The above photographs were taken in June of this year. It was warm and sunny in the glen and the temperature reached 26 C. On the mountain the temperature was just above freezing.
We went hiking in the mountains on two consecutive days this week. On Monday, the temperature in the glen was 25 C and there was no wind.
In the mountains above the loch it was windy and only 16 C.
On Tuesday we went up the mountain again and you can see the loch from the earlier photograph down below. The temperature on top of the mountain was the same as in the glen: 26 C. There was no wind either. This is extremely rare!

Breathtakingly beautiful views, Xenia and the dogs look as though they’re having the best time 🙂 xxx

Thank you so much Cathy. We were blessed with a clear sky and could see for miles on Tuesday. The dogs loved it and the humans did too! Thank you for stopping by and we wish you and Finn a wonderful weekend! xxx

Lovely pictures. Are you happy with fz series camera results?

Thank you so much for your kind words! I have had this camera for more than six years now and I am very happy with the ease of use and the results, especially the action shots when the dogs are running on the beach. I mainly use the auto-settings and am still learning about the manual ones and do very little editing. Thank you for asking and we wish you a wonderful weekend! :o)

I’m also using Panasonic Lumix but it’s ZS series. I had heard quite a bit about FZ series, so I thought I must ask you. I really like the colors it brings out. The only other worthy compact I must mention is Canon! You too have a great weekend! 🙂

Thank you so much for your kind words Alex!☺ I love taking photographs and share the natural beauty around us. The light is always different and each season has a magic of its own. We are grateful for the clear dry days when we can walk on the higher ground with the dogs before the low hanging clouds and the snows return. Thank you for stopping by and we wish you all a wonderful weekend!☺🐾🐾

I followed the links from The Daily Post’s “Graceful” theme for this week and found your blog – I love whippets! We’ve had several during my life, and about to get our next when a friend’s whippet has her pups in March this year. To me, your photos are less about the beauty of the scenery and more about the gracefulness of the lovely whippets, and have made me even more excited about getting our new addition soon. Thank you, seeing this made my day!
