Tanka: Finding Happiness

finding happiness
where we belong

  1. I loved this one so much that I read it two times. I imagine you have stones tumbling from the mountains of love and still you find joy in the new summer breeze. I still send you my condolences because the loss is large because your love is large. I am actually grateful that Misty came into your life. About six months before our oldest cat died, we took in a foster cat, Jack. Then we learned that my friend was too ill to ever take him back (and we’d fallen in love with him already) so we adopted him. Then six months after Star died, Chloe got cancer and died within weeks of diagnosis. We hadn’t been looking for another cat but I am so grateful that he is here with us. He is young and curious and quite a handsome Siberian dark silver cat who is so trusting. He fits into our family so well. He doesn’t replace Star or Chloe, they will always have a special place in our hearts, but it is a comfort to nurture a cat we love. I suspect this is something like what happened with you. Take care, Xenia. You are in my heart.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your beautiful story dear LuAnne. It is so special how Jack came into your lives and will now have his loving forever home with you. He sounds like a sweet soul and fun character and every cat is so unique and loving in their own way. We are so grateful that Misty came into our lives at a time when both our hearts and her family’s hearts were broken open too. There is a lot of love and healing and Misty is the sweetest soul we could have wished for. She fits into our lives as if it is the most natural thing and we look forward to sharing this part of the journey with her. I am so sorry about your loss of Star and Chloe and you are in my heart too 💞💜💞 xxx
