    1. Thank you kindly dear Eliza 🌺 The amount of running and exercise needed depends very much on the age and type of whippet. Pups and young whippets need to be exercised with care during the different growing stages, high-energy whippets in their prime need a lot of exercise whilst low-energy whippets will be content with moderate exercise with daily off-leash zoomies. As the whippets age, the level of exercise needs to be adapted. Eivor and Pearl are now seniors so when we have a long hike in the hills one day we’ll take it easy for the next few days and give them plenty of time to recover. With little body fat and a thin coat they cannot be out for long on warm days as they’ll easily overheat and on cold days they need to be well wrapped and can’t be exercised for long either. When the ground is hard (whether dried out from the heat or frozen) it’s not safe to let them run as they will get jarred up and could even break a leg. There are a lot of other things to consider and ultimately you adapt the exercise to each individual whippet’s needs 🐾💛🐾 xxx
