Tanka: The Gift

tanka poem by Xenia Tran with an image of two whippets playing on the beach
two whippets in winter jackets on the beach, one of them chasing a ball

sunshine breeze
a present
in the gull’s eyes
that looks older than today
even when it’s younger

  1. Great photos. I love seeing Pearl and Eivor running and having such a good time. I never really thought about it before, but I guess a sunshiny breeze is a present to a gull…making it much easier to glide along and find their food. The part about “age” is a little deep for my brain to process this morning. LOL Have a lovely day!

    1. Haha, thank you so much for your kind words dear Vicky, I was playing with the different meaning of (the) present and how some days feel as if we’ve been there before. A lovely day to you and Tippy too from all of us here 🤗💜🌞 xxx
