Tanka: Stepping Stones

tanka poem by Xenia Tran with a whippet on a beach with snow and ice
a blue and white whippet in a winter jacket walking on the tidal shore in Winter

green stains
on the stepping stones
geese are feeding
where the waves roll in
ice melts from the shore

  1. Beautiful Tanka and pictures, as always. Looks like all of the snow is gone. It is here too. The picture with Pearl on the boulder reminded me of the game that the kids love to play called “hot lava.” Do you know that one? They put pieces of cloth or other items on the floor and have to jump from item to item without touching the floor because, well, it really isn’t a floor. It’s HOT LAVA. It’s hilarious to watch them play.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Vicky and Hot Lava sounds hilarious! 😀 I’d never heard of this game before. Last week’s snows have melted away and this morning we have a light new dusting. So lovely to see you have Tippy back home again and please give her a big pat from us all 🤗💖🐕 xxx

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Denis, no geese were chased! They’re very good and many of the bird pictures from my nature blog are taken with Eivor and Pearl by my side 😇🐾🐾
