The strong winds have carried more driftwood to the beach. Some branches are chopped up and taken away to dry out for wood burners and open fires. Other pieces have been used to build shelters and huts along the beach. It brings a bit of joy and surprise whilst we are in lockdown.

The sea does flow relentlessly – beautifully said. I am always thrilled to find shelters built from driftwood when on the beach 🙂

Love the driftwood shelters. I would probably have been taking advantage of them to get out of the wind a bit. The blues in your photo are stunning. There’s something about the inevitable ebb and flow of the sea that gives a sense of peace and normalcy in these crazy times.

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Vicky, the flow of the sea is a great soother in these extraordinary times. Hope you are keeping safe and well too and please give Tippy a big pat from us all 🤗💖🐕 xxx

Thank you. I am trying. The last couple of months haven’t been the easiest. My dad passed away from CoVID on 16 Dec and then I finally got to have my open heart surgery on 8 Jan to repair an aortic aneurysm. I came through the surgery amazing well. So, I am on the mend, both physically and mentally.

The haiku certainly places us in a very cold wintery place and the images strongly support this Xenia. The hut frame is very similar to what the Indigenous Australians would create as temporary habitat, using bark as fill in. I guess children built this?

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Denis, I can imagine the bark filling would make the huts very cosy. I think children built these shelters with a little help from the adults in their lives 😉

That’s a lot of drift wood but fun to see it all stacked up and used. So beautiful there! ❤️ We are having a windy week here, with cold winds and a storm front moving in for some rain. We need the rain. Have a great week! ❤️🤠
