Haibun: First Snow

The Cairngorms used to be called Am Monadh Ruadh or Russet Coloured Mountain Range. We love walking in the National Park out of season. The ancient pine are self-seeding and some of the trees are a thousand years old. The streams running from the hills are crystal clear. The water seems as pure today, as it has always been.

  3. What a beautiful place! For some reason the dogs with their eye-catching red coats make me think of little pixies using them as steeds. Yes, I am an idiot.

  5. Beautiful photos of The Cairngorms, Xenia, and Eivor and Pearl look so smart in their coats! I love the thought that there are trees that are a thousand years old, and the clear, pure water!
