Haibun: Beginnings

We walk on to a raised clearing in the forest where the light comes through. It is easy to see from here, how different trees relate to each other. The path of their voice flows through roots beneath our feet, through leafless branches. For anyone still enough to listen, a portal opens into this kinder world, this circle of giving and receiving.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Fred. The snow is in the sky and has been falling on the higher ground. The temperature is dropping on the lower ground and we may get snow here in a few days too 💜☃️

  1. I am late to the reading! Posted on Monday and then got immersed in packing, organizing, preparing etc as we flew yesterday to San Diego. Spending two months in a rental here away from Boston’s winter! I so enjoy your posts and seeing your photos. I’ve always believed trees and nature talks to us….walking in a woods or forest most especially can give us a soothing…a hope….a realization of calm.
This is a beautiful write! As yours always are 🙂

  2. First I love to offer you my congratulations on publishing your new haiku booklet. Thank you for granting me the joy of reading it … Your new booklet is a real gem and I enjoyed reading during the last tough month of 2019. It gave me joy and happiness.

What an awesome haibun you have created, the fragile beauty of a thin layer of snow caught in a nice haiku to conclude your haibun. Thank you Xenia.
