Tanka: Zen Meditation

Loch Morlich

a black whippet smiling at the camera beside a loch
a row of stones in the loch curving towards the mountains

stones in water
from emptiness to wholeness
these mountains
around them and within them
the wisdom of this life

We are delighted that the above tanka and the third image were combined into a taiga in honour of the Tanka Society of America’s 20th Anniversary Celebration for a special feature during April 2020. Christine L Villa created a beautiful video in May 2020 that brings all the featured taiga together in one place. A very big thank you to Susan Burch and Christine L Villa for featuring my work and putting these two wonderful projects together.
