Many of the Second World War defences along the Moray Coast are sinking deeper into the shifting sands. You can see some images taken earlier this year where they are still upright in Edge of New Tomorrows.

We’re delighted that this haiku is featured in Haiku Dialogue: Poet’s Choice, ambiguity, Troutswirl, The Haiku Foundation Blog, 4 September 2019. A very big thank you to Craig Kittner for putting this edition together.

Wishing you all a wonderful Thursday,

with love from Eivor, Pearl and Xenia xxx

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Denis. These defences were built along the North East coast to prevent the German army (arriving via the sea) from rolling their tanks onshore. In the end the Germans didn’t come this way and the anti-tank blocks and pill boxes are slowly sinking into the sands. They’re sometimes used for barbecues and picnics and people dry their beach towels on them. For Eivor and Pearl they’re interesting to sniff 🙂🐾🐾
