Haibun: In Praise of Trees

‘I’ve lived here fifteen years and never saw this trail before.’ We smile. It’s easy to miss when you’re not looking. We’re grateful we discovered it. Guided by a magician’s flute, a song of butterflies.

  1. Wow, a stunner. You blew the socks off the prompt. I loved the line /guided by a magician’s flute, a song of butterflies/. Your jaunts with the highland pooches always bolster our spirits.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Terri 🙂💜 We’re very blessed that our National Parks welcome responsible dog walkers. It’s important to understand the seasons and areas. We avoid the areas with ground nesting birds from April-August (or keep the dogs on leash when we have to cross them) and during deer-stalking season (July-October) we don’t head onto the higher rims and remoter parts where stalking takes place 🙂🐾💖🐾 xxx
