The clear waters of Alt Mor tumble over the stones. The rains have been welcome since wildfires swept our moors. I love the smells of earth and water, the young green leaves. It’s as if the forest can breathe again.

Thank you dear Laurie, the fires have been quite bad this Spring and we’re so glad the rains have come again 🙂💖💦 xxx

So awful! Hope the rains continue to come. But not too much, of course. Don’t want floods.

Fabulous photo of Eivor! What soulful eyes! Also, there’s always a hitch to the breath in the new growth following a fire. Regeneration. Hope.

What a beautiful word for the name of the deer (Sika), I’m glad the rains came and smothered the fires…we’re enjoying lovely warm weather at the moment with the threat of fire not too far behind.

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Kim, we’re very grateful for the rains at the moment 💜 Mother Earth and all the wildlife really need it after the warm and dry weather we’ve had here. Hope it will balance out where you are too 🙂💖💦 xxx

We’re experiencing some marine cloud mixed in with smoke from wildfires in the neighbouring province of Alberta at the moment…we hope not to have a repeat of last summer, we lost the whole month of August to smoky skies! I’m glad the rains came to your beautiful part of the world…

I hope those fires will soon be out dear Kim and that there’s a safe and green Summer ahead of us all 🙂💖🍀 xxx

Sika are not native but roam the eastern seabord of Maryland because it is marshy. I love the scents in this. And I looked up the sika and found the high pitched whistle the females make. How interesting. What a lovely haibun and haiku. Hugs to you, Eivor, and Pearl.

As a matter of fact – That Act 9 you read is part of a ‘Despondency series’ I’ve been writing since. If you have time, start from Act 1 to Act 8. Trust me…they all have a sense of resonance and relatable. You will love them and you will say yes, I relate to this a lot. 🙂

You had me at /it feels as if the forest can breathe again/. Terrific haibun, nice haiku. It is short enough, it might even be a quadrille 44.

Thank you so much for your kind words dear Glenn, it might work as a quadrille if I take out ten words 😁
