Ruba’i: One More Glance

Glancing at all this beauty, before it melts away
the snow has been amazing, we so wish it could stay
we love it now with all our heart, while we run and play
to touch the stars that sparkle here, brightening our day.

Although the snow didn’t stay here long, we are very grateful for the few days we could enjoy it.

Frank at dVerse Poets invites us to create a Ruba’i (a classical Persian quatrain or double couplet with 13-syllable lines and a rhyme scheme of aaaa or aaba) or a Rubaiyat (a collection of more than one quatrain).

Last Friday I posted Fishertown Rubaiyat, an 8-syllable interlocking Rubaiyat, and today I wanted to experiment with the traditional Persian form. If you are interested in playing along, the prompt stays open until the end of the month.

With love from Eivor, Pearl and Xenia xxx

    1. Thank you dear Tracy, Eivor and Pearl were mesmerised by the blanket of snow on the dunes. They’re familiar with the deeper snow inland but this is the first time they’d seen so much snow here on the coast. We usually only get the odd light flurry 🙂💖⛄ xxx
