The air is crisp and cools down as the sun slides around the mountains. The faint smell of wood smoke mingles with pine and brown leaves. It’s time to head out of the forest, before the light goes.

Carpe Diem #1590: Bean Soup
Nancy Merrill’s A Photo A Week Challenge: Contrasting Colours
The comforts of winter indeed! What, beside beans, goes into Grandma’s soup. Clif and I are wild about soup in the winter.

Thank you dear Laurie π We use vegetable broth or unsalted bouillon, red kidney beans, black beans, butter beans or white beans, fresh garlic, onion, chipotle, tarragon, celery, vine tomatoes, green bell pepper and chestnut mushrooms. We don’t use salt but you can add it if you want to ππ xxx

No worries dear Dusty, the bean soup is for the humans! We were getting stuck into our campfire stew while they were eating ππΎππΎ xxx

Beautiful imagery. A welcome relief for me, in the humidity and heatwave of a Sydney summer.

Thank you Draco, it’s relatively mild here for the time of year – hope the Sydney heatwave will pass soon! ππ
