Haibun: A Safe Landing

The journey from breeder to buyer, buyer to shelter and from shelter to forever home can be measured in hour and miles. The inner journey is often different, when the world you once knew is turned upside down.

Nature is a great healer. The subtle sound of the sea, the call of a gull, the deep silence in rock pools. Green seaweed glistening in the sun gives comforting smells, a new sense of home and belonging. Our roots grow deeper. Our love grows deeper still.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Laurie 💜 Eivor was frightened of open spaces when we first adopted him as he’d never been taken out for a walk before, Pearl was frightened of the wind, other dogs and sudden noises. They,’ve both come a long way 🙂🐾💖🐾 xxx

    1. Thank you dear LuAnne, it can be hard to see the effect on animals who have been abandoned or poorly treated and it so rewarding to see the difference once they know they are safe and given a second chance 🙂💖 xxx
