Tanka: Gratitude

in a beam of sunlight
our gratitude
for love, home and family
forever in our hearts

Today is Thanksgiving’s Day in the US and we want to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to all our blogging friends for their love and support, our friends who work as volunteers in the shelters and everyone who helps to make this world a better place.

If any of you want to join Eivor and Pearl in their dance, here are Mumford & Sons performing their song ‘Guiding Light’:

With love from Eivor, Pearl and Xenia xxx

  1. Such happy faces. I know animals walk to a different beat with God and I always wonder if those who are blessed as these two are, really understand how very fortunate they are. They meet us soul to soul.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Anita 💜 All the animals we have adopted over the years had their own way of expressing their gratitude. We adopted a four month old puppy many years ago who had been abandoned by a motorway just after Christmas. He was in a dog pound first, then a shelter. From the first meal we gave him he thanked us for the food before eating by nudging our hand and licking our face. He did this with every meal for thirteen years. Eivor has a warm and quiet way of expressing thanks, a deep loving look and a paw on your arm after a walk, a nudge of the hand after eating his food. Pearl is very exuberant, she flings her paws around your neck for a hug and a lick after a walk and after play to say thank you 🙂🐾💖🐾 xxx

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Tracy. The sun is still low in the sky on our morning walk and beams through the gaps in the trees, which gives this play of shadow and light on the sands. The shaded parts sstill feel cold from the night and Eivor and Pearl skip from one sunny part to the next to catch the warmth 🌞🐾💖🐾 xxx
