Haibun: Reflections

Raven’s Rock Gorge

autumn leaves sparkling in the sun above the burn below the walls of the gorge

Shape shifting waters flow down Alt Mor, offering glimpses of animals who roamed here before the leaves changed their colours. We sense the presence of spirits, the wise glint in the eye of the birds that gave their name to the rock above the path. Between beech and Douglas firs, moss climbs towards heaven.

  1. I love the thoughts of autumn as being the season of shape shifting. I too can feel the spirits of change when I walk in the woods and when I stroll down by the creek. Eivor and Pearl look so happy and curious about the changes going on around them. the haiku at the end is truly beautiful. The photo is beyond gorgeous. Hugs and love to the pups!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dear Grace 💜 I really enjoyed putting the book together and learned plenty along the way. It has been well received so far and we hope we will be able to help many shelters with the proceeds 🙂💖🐕 xxx
