What began as a guiding light for sailors is swallowed by shifting sands. The river readjusts her flow into the sea, the sailors readjust their navigations. Seaweed covers the remaining frame in vivid green around the barnacles, accepting all that changes.

Lovely. Lighthouses hold a special place in my heart, not the least of all for my book “Emilia”, which features one as an inherent part of the story, literally and figuratively. Hugs! Na’ama

Oh – I have heard of those Scottish beaches. Are you on the west coast?

Oh – is that the general direction of Findhorn? No wonder your winters are so cold!

Yes it is and we get the full blast of all the Arctic gales here in Winter – they are very invigorating! 😁💖 xxx

Wow – that is a long way north. Many years ago I went to a talk by the founder of Findhorn. He said they were just inside the Arctic Circle. No wonder it gets cold.
We get the Antarctic gales here but we are on a higher latitude than you. It’s interesting that the light is similar though. Your photos yesterday reminded me of sunny mornings in spring at the beaches down here.

We are south from the Arctic Circle and close enough to feel their icy winds – funny how the light is similar where you are! 🙂💖 xxx

It must be the angle of the sun at certain times of the year. Your coastal pictures often remind of the beaches near here.

I love the way you’ve taken something that others might overlook and brought it back to life, Xenia, using contrasts and similarities! I also love the beautifying seaweed and barnacles, and the peaceful, glistening haiku.

Your photos & poems really provoked thought. Where is our place in the face of that which seems immutable, but actually is not.
