Haibun: When Boats are Sleeping

We walk together, three times a day. In Winter our first walk is at first light, the sun rising slowly between houses and chimneys, above the lowest of dunes. Now, on this first day of May, every walk is in daylight. Mornings are peaceful. Boats are still sleeping on grass wet with dew. This is where poems find me.

  2. Dunes have magic of their own. Mark and I visited white sand dunes in the middle of the desert last weekend. Your last photo reminds me of that outing. I hope to blog about it and post photos soon. Hiking 8km up and down these pristine hills in fine, white sand was an experience. We often thought our dogs would have loved it. 🙂
