Haibun: When Stillness Runs Deep

The eastern wind blows horizontal snows in total silence. There is something unique about her quietude, the peace she brings. Airports and railway stations are closed. People are advised to stay at home. Without any traffic, the stillness runs deep. We close our eyes and breathe.

This post is a continuation from yesterday’s post and both were inspired by the Siberian winds.

We hope you are keeping safe and warm and wish you all a very happy Tuesday.

      1. We’re not too bad, the really cold weather seems to have gone for now and is more in keeping with the time of year. Much love to you all too 🙂 xxx

    1. Thank you for your kind words Liesbet, they love sunbathing, except in hot Summer weather when they look for a bit of respite in the shade!😎 Frida and Elvis are such adorable creatures ☺💖🐕 xxx

  1. In the first photo, Eivor looks like he’s meditating. 🙂 They both look so cute together , I feel like joining them in their cosy hug (in the second photo) 💗

  3. Those dogs look so cozy. Hope you got through the storm without any serious troubles. Now it is our turn. A Nor’easter is blowing up the coast. Twelve inches of snow are in the forecast. We will be ready.

    1. Thank you dear Laurie, we got through it safely and kept our dog walks short and sheltered from the winds. Above all, we enjoyed the tranquility it created and the cosyness in front of the fire. Great to hear you are ready. Keep safe and warm and enjoy the magic! ☺💖 xxx

  4. In a curious parallel circumstance, we’re presently weathering blizzards (32 inches of snow last Friday, 16 more coming today). Quiet respite of snow here, too, a third-way round the world.
Brought to us in unusual fashion, with winds coming from the east.
Write a note on a snowflake and send it aloft, and I shall look for it in a few days.

    Stay warm,

    Paz
