Tanka: Remembering The Mountain

so much peace
in the wisdom of these stones
beneath the snows
an ancient mountain echoes
a song to guide us home

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words 💜 Eivor and Pearl love wearing these coats – they are lightweight and warm, they do not flap in the wind when they are running and the snood unrolls into a hoodie during snowstorms. We got them from k9apparel.com, a small US-based outfit that also sells on Etsy under the name Voyagers K9 Apparel ☺🐾🐾

      1. I’m glad you found coats to fit them and keep them warm. Thank you for sharing about the coats. I am sending your info to a friend who has a dog that loves the outdoors and needs a coat but is hard to fit :-).

      2. You are very welcome! They make coats for all kinds of breeds from Dachshund to Great Danes and can make coats to measure if none of the standard sizes fit. I hope your friend finds a coat that suits! :o)

  1. Very lovely Tanka. Pearl and Eivor seem to be enjoying the snow, but not quite as much as they do the beach. Also, I don’t think I ever noticed the white on Pearl’s tail before. I guess it’s the angle and how it is actually whiter than the snow that makes it stand out in this picture.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words Vicky 💜Eivor and Pearl are walking on the beach in these photographs at high tide and they are happy to walk and sniff when there is less room for them to zoom around. The stones in the seawall came from the mountains, which is what inspired the tanka 😉💖🐕 xxx

      1. Glad they are happy to just walk and sniff. It didn’t look like the beach. I really love how you are inspired by nature. You do a great job of including that in all of your poetry. I think that is why I like it so much.

      2. Thank you Vicky, nature is such an inspiration and every day brings something new to catch my eye! 😉 The beach looks very different at high tide and at Spring tides the water comes all the way up to the stones ☺💖 xxx

  2. I’ve been away from blogging for a while and just catching up now. Scrolling through your posts and photos make me smile. Your gorgeous dogs always look so happy and what adventures you take them on.
    Just lovely 🙂

      1. They are currently all curled up around me on the sofa. I’m signed off work with tonsillitis! Looking through blogs is keeping me entertained though 🙂
