Haibun: Winter Solstice

On this shortest day the light is extra warming. Oystercatchers poised with calm stride out along the shoreline. We run and chase some balls, grateful for the blue sky and the warm of Winter.

so peaceful
every blink a golden hour
on solstice day

This is our last post before we take a short blogging break to celebrate Christmas with our loved ones.

We will continue to share adoption appeals from shelters on Twitter over the festive season as this is traditionally a time when many pets are handed in or abandoned. We hope all these animals will find the loving homes they deserve and if you are thinking about getting a pet please consider making adoption your first option.

We want to say a huge thank you to the wordpress team for enabling this amazing platform where so many real friendships have blossomed.

We want to thank our followers and fellow bloggers for the lovely comments and inspiring posts that teach us something new each day.

We wish you all a happy Winter Solstice, a very Happy Festive Season and a wonderful start to the New Year.

  6. Thank you for your encouragement towards adopting pets. All my cats have been adoptions and they have blessed my family forever. Winter solstice is my favorite day of the year. Like that infinitesimal pause at the end of a pendulum swing, the earth turns to the light. It reminds me that there is an end to darkness, an end to falling as the Unconquered Son of God, who is the true light came to us in our darkness. Have a blessed time with your family.
