In the glen November rain has turned to snow for all her answers and covers our trails with a blanket of stars. Most trees have lost their leaves. A delicate filigree stands guard beside the ice that sheets the loch. The world turns almost monochrome with subtle hints of colour.

My husband is off to Aberdeen in the morning, He’s only staying a few days, but I’m making sure he has plenty of warm clothes. We have had hail but no snow as yet.
I love the beautiful detail of the trails covered with a blanket of stars and the filigree standing guard beside the loch – and, of course, the sleeping frogs. Keep warm, Xenia! 🙂 xxx

Thank you so much for your kind words Kim, we are used to these temperatures and know how to wrap up and enjoy the magic outside! Please make sure your husband brings a warm woolly hat with him – the icy North winds can be piercing if you are not used to them :o) xxx

Funny you should say that – I’m knitting him a new hat for Christmas!

The hat’s finished, although it needs a bit of sewing, and I’ve started knitting the scarf. It’s lovely thick, soft wool with tweedy flecks in it. After that, I hope to make another hat for a friend and then finish the baby things. Teddy bear buttons are on their way!

Those sleeping blissful frogs…what a beautiful haiku this is. The haibun is full of peace. I love the photos of Eivor and Pearl of course…they are all bundled up for their scampering around. Lovely visuals in this.

Terrific evocation of place – and the haiku – those chilly froggies sleeping in bliss. Odd thoughtful image – Thanks also for your wonderful photography – so nice to see snow pictures while it’s 30 degrees (Celsius) outdoors.

Thank you so much for your kind words Peter, it was inspired by the ice on the loch and a tribute to Basho’s frog haiku (a frog jumps into the sound of water) ☺

No snow here in southern California unless we go to high mountains. My husband and I are going to see Mercy, Will, and baby Autumn for Christmas. Hopefully, we’ll see some snow in Portland, Oregon. Thank you for your snow photos and peaceful poem!

Lovely to see the gentle snow ( as opposed to blizzarads). Just this morning my husband and I were talking about frogs and how they hibernate over the winter.

Anything about ‘frogs’ – I didn’t start from the beginning at Frank T’s place, but I might go back and just write to his prompts for myself.
Thanks for stopping by – I’ll bookmark your place. Best to you and all the fur family.
