Quadrille: A Glimpse Of New Tomorrows

Cairngorms National Park

cloud and mist rising at mountain top in Autumn

the sun is ready
to break through
kick-start the dazzle
of mountain dew

while we touch
the clouds we
feel the breath
of Winter

she will be here
to rest her snows
cover these russets
while folding golds

dreaming the world
with new tomorrows

    1. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and words Anita. The weather is getting colder here and we have to wrap up warm – this could be a metaphor for life some days. We hope you are well and wish you and Fanny a wonderful new week :o) xxx

    1. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts Laurie. It is so sad to see this happening over and over while they continue to manufacture, distribute, licence and sell the tools for these people to do what they do. There has to be a willingness to find a better way xxx

      1. I agree 100 percent. Unfortunately, there is no political will to change the situation. No matter what happens, no matter how many people are slaughtered, it’s guns, guns, guns. Very discouraging.

  1. My heart goes out to those at the church in Texas as well. What a hard time that state has had between this and the hurricane.

I hope that autumn sticks around for a bit. Winter is coming, but I want to enjoy the colors of autumn, and all its scents a little longer. This gave me wonderful thought images.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and words X. The day after we hiked here the peaks were covered in snow and in the glens Autumn is lasting a little longer – I hope it will stick around where you are too :o)

  3. Are you kidding me with this?! Easily my favorite poem of the day. Totally rockin’ poem.

I LOVE this line: “kick-start the dazzle”

    Also this:
    “she will be here
    to rest her snows”

  4. Fabulous scenery in the photo of the Cairngorms, Xenia, and Eivor looks so smart in his coat! The poem is stunning, from kick-starting ‘the dazzle / of mountain dew’ to the russets and folding golds. Here’s to new tomorrows!

  5. Oh Xenia, this is an amazingly beautiful contribution for Forgiving Fridays – thank you!! Is that Elvor in the sweater? (What a magnificent photo). Your poem and recognition of the folks touched by Texas is really moving … reminds me of how forgiveness is a way to wrap ourselves in love and caring, and how we are all connected through the medium of both our blogs and poetry. Thank you for the beauty. Debbie
