A warm-hearted thanks to all of you who expressed concern and held us in their prayers as ex-hurricane Ophelia passed through Scotland overnight. By the time it reached the Highlands it had weakened considerably and we had heavy rain without the gusts of wind. Our friends in Ireland were less fortunate and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.

We wish you all a happy and peaceful Tuesday.

With love from Eivor, Pearl and Xenia xxx

  1. Ex-hurricane Ophelia! 🙂 I’m glad you’re all safe and well. xx
I love the name of the mountain, Xenia – Celtic is so melodic, and I can see from the pictures why it is a sacred sanctuary. All of those colours among the faded heather remind me of my Scottish rug that keeps me warm in the cold weather.

    1. Thank you Kim and great to see you are OK too! When the heather turns from purple to gold it has a different energy and feels very soothing on the eye. I would love to see an image of your Scottish rug – the way you describe it sounds very beautiful ;o) xxx

  2. So glad the Highlands escaped the worst of Ophelia. Between all the fire and water, what an extraordinary, devastating autumn it has been. Will people start listening to Mother Nature. So far, in this country, those at the top are burying their heads. Anyway, what beautiful photos of the sky!

    1. Thank you for your kind words Laurie and we are very grateful Ophelia weakened as she traveled through our skies. We need to honour Mother Nature and give plenty back. Even when those at the top are not doing enough those industries that contribute to pollution and climate change can take it upon themselves to make changes for the better 😉💖 xxx

  3. I’m glad all are safe and sound. I live in “hurricane alley”. The sactuary is so beautiful. And it is great to see the sweet pups frolicking in it. the photos are beautiful. Autumn is slow getting to us this year. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks it will arrive. The mist on the hills reminds me of our Great Smokey Mountains. Hugs to Eivor and Pearl. I like the looks of your new webpage.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts Toni. Living in ‘hurricane alley’ sounds very brave! People here are not used to these storms and leave all their hanging baskets and ornaments in their gardens and empty wheelie bins stand casually in the road. These all turn into projectiles that can do a lot of harm. Ophelia has thankfully passed and Brian is now on his way with landfall expected on Friday. The Great Smokey Mountains sound wonderful and we will make the most of our milder Autumn days, heading for the hills when we can before the snows arrive. Hope Autumn will come to you soon too! Big hugs from Eivor and Pearl and much love to you from all of us here :o) xxx

  4. What a wonderful part of the world you live in. I look at your photos and I am transported away from the tv news and the tweets and the …..well you get the picture. The photos and your words are my transporters!
