I love to see photos of the 2 of them, always together. Friends for life. Really heart warming to see the pair.☺

Thank you dear friend, these two are very close and they made an instant connection when they met at the shelter. It is lovely to witness how they blossom together :o) xxx

It is rare to see two of any dogs this close and it is a feel good moment for me…hard to explain but these are dogs and such great pals…how lovely if humans exhibited their traits! The world would be a warmer place for all.🤗

Thank you for your kind words and yes, the world would be a warmer place for all. Most dogs want to get along with each other and we have been lucky that all the ones we have adopted over the years have been the best of friends :o) xxx

Hello. The photo does make it look warm and summery, a couple of days ago Eivor and Pearl had their coats on! Here in Durban it was hot and sunny a few days ago and I was in shorts and a T-shirt and today it is cool and wet and I am wearing a jersey and tracksuit pants!

Thank you Kim, our weather has been very changeable too. With the tail of hurricane Maria came a lot of rain and colder temperatures and Eivor and Pearl were wearing their coats to protect them from both. I could only use my camera between the showers so the pictures do not show how wild it got! The warmer weather has returned, although the mornings and evenings are a lot cooler than before. Hopefully the warmer temperatures will return to Durban too! ;o) xxx

I hope so, I am not a fan of rain and cold together!

Hi, my friend. I like this tanka, and I, too, know this season as Indian summer. Sad, however, the language of our day is shifting and we probably “can’t” use the term any more. I don’t know what the PC police want to use to replace it, though. Have you heard?

Thank you for your kind thoughts Herb. I am aware that some people believe an Indian Summer can only appear after a cold spell in November. Most people use this expression for any warm day or period after a cold spell in Autumn in the Northern hemisphere. I wrote this tanka in response to a poetry prompt on ‘Indian Summer’ and in creative writing the meaning does not have to be literal. I am not aware of any other issues regarding its use ☺

Here in the Finger Lakes the endless summer is worrying….can’t wait for the season to turn. As of yesterday, all of October was “summer.”

Our Summer felt more like Autumn temperature-wise and in September we had some glorious warm weather. For October everything has returned to ‘normal’ after the storms and I hope the cooler weather will come to your part of the world soon! :o)
