a green breath
still curls its way
along this trail
when rains begin to lift
the sweetest scent of pine

So green and beautiful. In central Maine, it is in the 90s and very humid. Hard to believe autumn is here. The weather is supposed to break midweek, and I am ready.

Thank you so much for your kind words Laurie 💜 We have a mixture of sunshine and showers and 18C here, very mild for September. I hope the humidity will soon make way for better Autumn weather in Maine! 😉🍁🍂 xxx

The weather is supposed to turn on Wednesday, and I can’t say I’m sorry. Ninety degrees the end of September is a bit much.

Beautiful pictures and great Tanka. It looks like Pearl is smelling those curls of pine scent as they rise up after the rain.

Beautiful poem, Xenia and a very recognizable theme and scene! Here in the woods of Colorado, the mist, drizzle, snow and rain has been present for a couple of days. Everything is wet and still green, except for most of the Aspen leaves. They are all yellow already. I can’t believe we need our winter coat again! 🙂

Thank you for your kind words Liesbet and for you it will be such a contrast after the hot weather you had in Santa Fe! Snow and winter coats already! We are lucky the temperatures are still mild here, around 17C. Keep warm and we wish you a wonderful time in Colorado! 😉🌲💕 xxx

Gorgeous photography. I can smell that pine!
BTW – I’m holding on to our warm weather as long as I can. Hate to see it go!

That is one nice thing about rain, it does bring out the scents of the undergrowth. Beautiful photo!
