Quadrille: Dream Waves

black whippet with an orange ball chasing waves on seashore

words can barely capture dreams
whose wings caress the dawn

the world has so much beauty still
it wants to show us more

we are here to chase the waves
in shades of turquoise blue

our gratitude spills over
when blessings feel this true

  1. Happy Monday, Xenia! I hope the week has got off to a good start for you. I love the gentle cadence of your poem – it moves like the ‘waves / in shades of turquoise blue’.

    1. Thank you my FRiEnD and lovely to see you here ☺ I was over at your ‘Every Prophecy takes a Thousand Pictures’ last night and the tab crashed a few times. I got as far as you being on the ‘high tide side of roaring waves of fun’ which made me laugh and made the screen jump back to the beginning. I will attempt and read some more if our broadband can cope with your breath of words over the weekend ☺💖 xxx

      2. Thank you my FRiEnD, it is so good to believe in ‘such Loving Potential we have and give and share when fully lit up with Love in MoVinG CoNNecTinG CreaTinG WaYs iN Hands Holding of Hugging Words’ :o) It is lovely that Lisa thought you had a nice British accent and that you think I have a Scottish one ;o) When I first came to the UK I was surrounded by Irish people and learned to speak like them. Over the years my accent has changed gradually and perhaps there is now a Scottish tune in there somewhere too ;o) xxx

      3. I was born in The Netherlands, to a Dutch father (with Frisian and French ancestry) and German mother (with Swiss, German, Polish, Czech and Hungarian branches of the family). Many members of my family married someone of another nationality, myself included. A late great-aunt of mine married an Irish American in California too ;o) xxx

  2. Delightful writing that captures the sense of joy of being in the now which animals can so easily bring…they can charge about the beach oblivious to the politics of hate spilling over in the world. If only our leaders were like your dogs.
