I see you through the window, landing on our neighbour’s roof. There is still a bit of down from when you were born with eyes wide open. I wish you a long and happy life my friend. Your parents will be back soon with some fish. Very soon, your muscles will be strong enough for you to spread those wings and find your own place by the sea.

It is unusual for me take photographs of seagull chicks, as I do no want to cause them or their parents any alarm. It is also unusual for me to take photographs through our window. On this occasion it seemed a great opportunity to capture images of our feathered neighbours without disturbing them. Eivor had watched me watch the chick with great interest and asked to go out to have a look from our garden. He has seen many seagulls nest on the roofs around us. He seems as much in awe as I am, about how fast they learn and grow.

Ohhhhh…..I wish you could have heard the audible amazed ohhhhhh that came out of my lips when I scrolled down and saw the photo of the wings outstretched. FABULOUS! Wonderful words too…
Thanks so much for participating! 🙂 You not only gave us a peek through your window, you gave us a peek into the wonders of nature! 🙂

Thank you so much for your kind words Lillian and for hosting this lovely prompt. I was looking out of the window wondering which angle to take when the seagull chick appeared ;o) xxx

My first thought when I saw that beautiful photo: “Ah, birds!” My second thought when I saw that beautiful photo: “No Eivor and Pearl?” Then, Eivor. Wonderful photos, Xenia. Eivor, you are so very gentle.

Thank you Pauline, they truly are! We love the seagulls around us and they all have their own personalities which already begin to show at a few weeks old ☺💜

Beautiful photos, Xenia. My favorite is the one of the chick (or is it the mother?) with her wings ready for launch.
