Lovely clear sky and blue water. Is it in low tide?

Thank you Miriam 💜 The tide is flowing back in, it was low tide about an hour and a half before we arrived here 💦🐾🐾

We went to a beach one day without knowing that the tide was 10 feet high. No wonder I was fascinated and took many photos! 🙂

Thank you J.R., this area looks magical in fine weather but you can get snowed in here in Winter ;o)

Hmm, well most of the time I don’t mind the snow but I’ve never lived with it!

Lovely, as usual, Xenia. I must say, though, there appears to be a singular lack of trees around that loch. Is it really that open?

Thank you for your kind words Herb and yes, it is very open here, with mainly sandstone in those mountains :o)

I come from tree country, so this looks barren and cold to me. A good place to visit, but…

I can totally understand, we love visiting here and are always happy to return home to the pine forests ;o)

What a dreamy place. The first photo reminds me of my favourite beach down here on the shores of the Southern Ocean. The colours and land forms are very similar.

Thank you Suzanne, it is a very meditative and dreamy place in fine weather. Lovely that you have similar colours and land forms on your shores too :o) xxx

Yes, it can be very meditative on the coast here in good weather. It’s a bit wild and cold today though. 🙂

A very playful haiku Xenia to match the dogs excitement. What is that stone line in the water?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Thank you for your kind words Denis :o) The stone line in the water is a hand-made dry stone wall that was originally created to catch fish after high tide. The gaps between the stones let the water through but not the fish. As the tide runs out, people would come with buckets and nets to catch them. These days very few fish come this way.

Thats interesting Xenia . Our Australian indigenous people made similar stone fish traps many thousands of years ago, back possibly 10,000 at least.
