We do not have much body fat or fur and wrap up warm in the morning mist. There is a chill in the air and it feels colder when the skies are clear. Kind-hearted souls knit snoods and sew coats to help homeless hounds. The money goes towards helping the dogs with veterinary care, food and shelter until a permanent new home can be found.

deserve to sparkle
like the sky
small acts of kindness

It was so Charlie Xenia, we would take her into a nursing home and all the elderly faces would light up. I also had a look at the rescue site you linked. So wonderful and also sad. We have an enormous problem in Australia with the Greyhound racing industry and there are also fantastic people running rescues.

I follow some of the Australian rescues on twitter and regularly retweet their adoption appeals, which can be seen embedded on our blog in the right hand bar. I can imagine Charlie lighting up many faces in the nursing home, such a lovely thing to do to take her there :o)

We lived in the country on a farm in the late 1940’s and 1950’s. Everybody knew how fast Blackie and Yellow were cause they liked to chase cars : /

Thank you so much for your kind words Cattie. Even when we adopt one animal we can change their whole world and it is such a rewarding thing to do.
