The forest seems asleep
deep under blankets of mist
enlisted by frost.
Entrusted with finding her spark
we embark on the search,
lurch for the higher ground
beyond the sun’s hiding place.
Faced with our gaze she wakes
and bathes the glen in amber.

In response to dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille #19 Spark
Daily Prompt: Transformation
fpj photo challenge: Nature’s Beauty
We call that “spark” a “sun break” here in WA state. Lovely 44; smile.

In Florida the sun is always here except when it rains, which is often during the summer, clear skies the rest of the year.

This is wonderful… the colors are slowly fading here now… but I guess that’s what November means.

Thank you for your kind words. The colours were slow to appear this year and are getting more vibrant still. November will be here soon with the strong winds that take all the leaves with them.

I love the opening lines and the sounds created in ‘mist enlisted by frost’ – I can hear it moistly glistening! I also love the idea of the sun hiding. But that final line just leaps out at me: ‘bathes the glen in amber’ – I want to be there!

I like that first photo, such a sharp image, and catches details in the shadows as well as light. I had the lumix fz28 until I fell off a rock on it. It was a great camera, and the fz38 seems to be in the same class.

Thank you so much for your kind words and so sorry to hear you fell off a rock! I have had this camera for six years now and it is so versatile and easy to use.
