My Friend, My Shadow

My Friend, My Shadow

You follow me in silence
with the patience of angels.

You were my stepping stone
to a better life
and remind me
how far I have come.

My friend, my shadow
you can rest in the dark
while I stride on
into the light.

Every rescue dog we have adopted so far had either been abandoned, abused or neglected by their previous human companions.

In their own way they have left the past behind and seem to accept and love every aspect of themselves. Their past has brought them empathy and understanding when we meet other rescue dogs to whom they always reach out with love.

With love to you all from Eivor, Pearl & Xenia xxx

  1. Eivor today looks healthy and happy 🙂
This shelter pic reminds me of a beagle that one of our family friends adopted few years ago. He was at a pharmaceutical company, and experimented with drugs, just like a guinea pig. Poor dog was so scared of human beings. He used to run away and hide when we went near him. He was even scared of the person who adopted him. They looked after him really well. Though he survived for just a year after he was rescued, he definately had a less painful death.

    1. Oh Rekha, the dog’s health would have been so poor and at least he knew love before he left this world. It takes a lot of time for some dogs to trust you, we had one dog where it took almost four months. The main thing is patience and not to approach them when they are frightened. Let them get to know you and come to you when they are ready. Thank you for visiting and much love to you xxx

      1. Yes Xenia. We feed few stray dogs everyday. Initially they were scared of us, now they know we mean no harm to them so they come closer.
Love to you ,Eivor and Pearl ❤❤😊

    1. Thank you for your kind words Rosemary, I always believe that if we can love our own shadow and accept it as a part of ourselves (in the way dogs so easily do) it can be a true friend.
