  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Share the Award on your blog.

Seven Random Things About Me:

  1. My haiku ‘A New Leaf’ which originally featured at the beginning of my post A New Leaf has been published on Pure Haiku today.
  2. I love the smell of open fires and wood burning stoves.
  3. When we lived in London I often bought freshly roasted chestnuts on the street as a treat in Winter.
  4. I love the blessings of each and every Season and Autumn is my favourite with the smells in the forests, the changing colours and the warm glow of the sun.
  5. From all the voluntary work I have done over the years I loved working with Riding For The Disabled the most. I began volunteering with them after getting injured in a riding accident and the way the horses behaved, especially around disabled children, was absolutely heart-warming.
  6. For several years I helped people who had been affected by crime to find their voice again through a programme called ‘Holistic Linguistics’.
  7. Eivor loves to help me with my blogging and always sits or lies close by.

  3. Hi Xenia, I am very interested in your holistic linguistics method that you mentioned here. I am putting together a trauma education curriculum for people working with refugees and other traumatized populations. I have a feeling that there is some valuable information in your program…

  4. Congratulations to you all for receiving this award! I was intrigued by your Holistic Linguistics program for those affected by crime. I did a similar program at a couple prisons. A most rewarding work, Xenia. So happy to hear about that.

  5. Sending you much love back, Xenia. With autumn being your favorite season, you are in for a real treat soon. New England is famous for its fall foliage (the leaves are already turning now, because of the drought!), but I think we will be gone – out west – by the time the real “vibrance” appears. Thank you for the nomination of the “Versatile Blogger Award”; I feel honored! Now, I need to find time to write a post about this. It might have to wait until October, because I really want to share my stories and photos of our recent vacation in Acadia National Park first! 🙂
