Weekly Photo Challenge: Opposites – Part 2

The cottages of Torridon village in the Western Highlands are bathing in sunlight whilst the top of the mountain is wrapped in cloud and fog.

The rains are heavy further down Loch Torridon while we walk in the sun. We keep our dogs on the lead near livestock.

This part of the Scottish Highlands sees a lot of rainfall, which creates interesting opposites of light and dark.

Wealthy people fly in by helicopter to spend time at their Highland retreat.

We travel here by road. To us every part of the journey is as breathtaking and beautiful as the destination.

  4. These photos remind me of the TV series named Vera and Shetland. One of my favorites 🙂
    The TV series are based in Northumberland and Shetland region of UK.
    Beautiful photos 🙂 Pawsome 🙂 (I am a pet lover too. We have a cat at home.)

    1. Thank you so much! I have never heard of this tv series and will check it out. Northumberland and Shetland are both beautiful parts of the world. Many of the photographs in our June blog posts were taken in the area where the tv series ‘Monarch of the Glen’ was filmed (you can see ‘Glenbogle’ in the background).   6. Beautiful photos! I agree that seeing the scenery change as you reach your destination can be as exciting and stunning as the scenery at the destination itself! It’s an interesting looking island standing alone behind those sheep. 🙂

  12. The photos are amazing! Make you want to be there! Lily (my dog) would appreciate the fact there are woolly mammoths and woolly pigs in them (I think we’ve created an alternative language in our house and if we carry on using the made up names nobody will understand us).

      1. We seriously consider moving to Scotland, though (because of work) it would probably be somewhere around Edinburgh. We’ve even looked at some houses (and they are prettier and cheaper) 🙂

      2. Edinburgh is a great city, hubby and I lived there for a few years and it will always have a special place in our heart. There are lots of nice dog walks too. Spend some time there and see which areas you like best ☺
