A Golden Star Rises

Every morning she has a smile on her face and wags her tail by the front door. She nudges our companion’s hand as if to reassure her.

Ruby’s eyes are very bright and the energy around her head is sparkling with little stars. She looks as if she is preparing for ascension.

“I will be with you on every walk as long as my body can walk,” she says. “My love and everything I taught you will always stay with you.”

The forest smells of pine, woods and berries. The breeze is chilly and we are kept warm in our coats. Seamus and I are guarding Ruby now her life force is starting to fade.

We all feel this is a precious and special time. Seamus and I are holding Ruby in our hearts and in our love. We want her to feel comfortable and give her the space to leave when she is ready.

Our dog beds are making a strange rustling noise when we lie down and their soft covers are carried to the washing machine several times a day. Ruby is leaving damp patches and we know she cannot help it.

Every morning she has a smile on her face and wags her tail by the front door. She nudges our companion’s hand as if to reassure her.

Ruby gets a surge of energy and our companions take us to her favorite places. The beautiful bay with the seals basking in the sun, the forest trails, the streams she would bathe in and the lochs she loves to watch over.

Today the ground feels soft as we walk by the river and the tide is flowing out fast.

When we get home Ruby has a roll, turns on her side and falls asleep with a big smile on her face. The sun breaks through the cloud and a shaft of golden light surrounds her.

A golden star rises and surrounds us with love. Ruby looks so peaceful and helps us feel peaceful ourselves.

I am so grateful for the time we had together and feel so blessed to have known her.

Run free Ruby.

Love and peace,

Eivor

    1. Thank you for your kind words Brian. It is so rewarding to help rescue animals and give them a happy life. Saying goodbye is never easy yet in their own way they let you know that they understand and that everything is going to be fine.

    1. Thank you Kim, Ruby is such a lovely name! Our Ruby was a former stray and the staff at the shelter had named her. We normally give all our rescues a new name when we adopt but the name Ruby suited her so well and it was already part of her new life.
